Wrestlers #7 demonstrates the triumph of form over force. The top wrestler secures a bar arm hold on the bottom, threading the elbow across the back and driving the head down to draw the body into a configuration it cannot escape. Control is established through the asymmetry of the hold—the more the bottom resists, the tighter it becomes.

Dark Matter juxtaposes images of wrestlers with fires and airplane accidents clipped from a rural Idaho newspaper. Upscaled to more than two by three feet, the halftone becomes a veil that withholds close reading of the work. In the fallen figures of the wrestlers, an invisible but ever-present force becomes visible—one that defines the nature of our realities and our relationships.
